WASDO, is committed to organizing and recognizing a wide range of specialized self-defense styles and disciplines. Our focus is on systems that combine technical skill, physical conditioning, real-world defensive application, and cultural heritage.
Jiu-Jitsu
Ground fighting and submission holds that empower control without relying on strength.
Unarmed modern Japanese martial art, combat sport, Olympic sport (since 1964), and the most prominent form of jacket wrestling competed internationally.
Judo
Modern karate is primarily a striking art that uses punches and kicks, traditional karate training also employs throwing and joint locking techniques.

full-contact hybrid martial art and boxing type based on punching and kicking. Kickboxing originated in the 1950s.

Sumerian boxing, dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq), represents the earliest known evidence of organized fist-fighting, depicted in stone carvings showing bare-fisted fighters with wrist wrappings, often accompanied by music, serving both ceremonial and entertainment purposes, and predating formalized rules and gloves seen later in Minoan Crete and Greece.
